Showit: my (honest) opinion after 6 years of use

July 2026

If you're searching "Showit reviews" today, it's probably because you're hesitating between this platform and WordPress, Wix, Squarespace... or you just want to make sure you're not about to invest in the wrong tool. I completely understand: a website is..."is a A real lever for your business, not just a decorative item online. So it's best to choose the right platform from the start.

In this article, I give you my full opinion on Showit after six years of using it daily: what convinced me, what still bothers me, and who this platform is really made for.

What exactly is Showit?

To put it simply, Showit is a platform no-code website creation. In practice, you build your pages by drag and drop, a bit like on Canva, without having to touch a line of code.

What differentiates Showit from other manufacturers / CMS, That's precisely the absence of a fixed grid (which is what makes it a favorite tool of designers). You place your elements exactly where you want, down to the pixel. If you want to delve into the subject in detail, I've written a complete article on what is Showit and how it works.

After six years of using it, I can tell you one thing: this total freedom isn't just a marketing ploy. It's what truly changes the game on a daily basis for entrepreneurs who aren't at all comfortable with technology.

My opinion on Showit after 6 years: true creative freedom

Drag and drop, a real game changer compared to WordPress

Before Showit, I worked on WordPress with Divi. And honestly, each module had its own logic, its own grid constraints., its own display bugs. On Showit, I place text, an image, a button, exactly where I want, and it stays where I put it.

What this means for you in practical terms if you design your own website: you don't have You don't need to understand a system of columns or nested containers to get the look you have in mind. You see what you're doing in real time. If you're still hesitating between the two platforms, I've covered the topic in detail in my... WordPress vs Showit comparison.

Dual mobile/desktop design: advantage or constraint?

I'll be honest with you here: this is the point that requires the most adjustment. On Showit, The mobile version of your site is not generated automatically from the desktop version. You design it separately, in a dedicated view.

At first, it seemed like a waste of time. Looking back, after six years, I see it differently. It forces you to really think about the mobile experience rather than just experiencing it. The problem is, if you're in a hurry or not very comfortable with the layout, This extra step can quickly become a hindrance. That's where a template already designed for both formats becomes particularly useful.

What convinced me on a daily basis

Canvas views: a different way to tell the story of your business

One of the elements I use most in my projects is canvas views. Specifically, these are interactive areas that allow you to scroll through content and display information progressively., or to create carousels without an external plugin.

What this means for your visitor: instead of a static page where everything is visible at once, they discover your content as they scroll. It's a good way to keep their attention on pages that are a bit dense., like a services page or a portfolio, without it becoming indigestible.

Zero technical maintenance to manage

On WordPress, you manage updates Plugins, conflicts between extensions, backups, and sometimes hacking—all of that disappears on Showit. The platform handles hosting, security, and technical updates.

For someone like you who doesn't want to become a computer expert on top of managing their business, it's a real relief. You open your editor, you modify your content, and that's it.

The integrated WordPress blog, without the usual clunkiness

Many of my clients love the idea of a WordPress blog but dread everything else: the plugins, the updates, the bugs. Showit has found a rather clever middle ground. by connecting a regular WordPress blog to your Showit site, without you having to manage the technical part of the theme.

In practical terms, you benefit from the power of WordPress for the SEO of your articles, while keeping the custom 100% design of Showit for the rest of your site.

Responsive support, which makes all the difference compared to the void left by WordPress.

Have you ever been stuck on WordPress and not known who to turn to? I have, more than once. Showit has a live chat with support, and they respond quickly. When you're in the middle of building a website and you get stuck on a detail, it really makes a difference.

Is Showit really good for SEO?

This is THE question I receive most often, and I understand why: your site is useless if it can't be found on Google.

What the platform allows

Showit gives you control over the essentials Page titles, meta descriptions, URL structure, image alt text: combined with a WordPress blog, you actually have everything you need to build a real Google visibility strategy. I detailed the entire method in my Showit SEO guide.

What you need to monitor yourself

The point of vigilance, The problem is that Showit doesn't automatically alert you if alt text is missing or if your headings are poorly structured. Unlike some WordPress plugins that give you a red flag, here you have to know the best practices and apply them yourself.

The other point to watch out for: the internal mesh. Like Showit, it makes creating beautiful pages much easier, It's easy to end up with a beautiful website, but one where the pages aren't well-linked. And poorly linked pages are pages that Google has more difficulty indexing and ranking.

The limits that I'm not hiding from you

The price, a real obstacle for some

Let's be honest: Showit isn't the cheapest solution on the market. Subscription plans range from approximately €220 to €400 per year depending on your needs, and you have to add the cost of a template if you're not starting from scratch. This is a budget item that needs to be planned for in advance., especially at the very beginning of the activity (but it is also "the price" of peace of mind!).

Not suited for complex e-commerce

If your project involves an online store with hundreds of products and advanced inventory management, Showit isn't the right tool for the job. The platform integrates with Shopify for online sales, which works for simple needs, but can quickly become more complex (and expensive) if... you have needs advanced e-commerce.

A blank page that can paralyze

This point isn't discussed enough. Showit's total freedom is a real advantage when you know where you're going. But if you don't have Without design training or a clear page structure in mind, facing a blank canvas can quickly become a source of anxiety. You risk wasting hours moving blocks around without ever being satisfied with the result.

That's exactly why I almost always recommend starting from'a pre-structured template rather than a blank page, Especially if you're a beginner. You retain the freedom to customize everything, but you don't have to think about the structure from scratch.

What my clients who have used Showit say

I'm not the only one who made this choice. Several of my clients migrated to Showit after months of struggling on other platforms, and their feedback confirms what I've been telling you since the beginning of this article.

Maëva, from Gladup.co, had tried WordPress with Elementor and Divi but never managed to figure it out on her own: ""Charlène told me about Showit as being as simple as Canva, so I was afraid of being limited, but in the end Showit was a revelation for me. It's very, very easy and super intuitive!"" (you can see His opinion in video here).

Marina, from Ma vie saine et moi, experienced the same realization after years of bugs on Elementor: ""It's incredibly easy to use, as easy as Canva for those who know it, and the customer service response to any issue is super quick and efficient! Not needing code to easily add and modify things saves an incredible amount of time and has freed my mind from all the stress I had with WordPress.""

Amandine, for her part, had taken over the management of a WordPress site created by a web designer on her own., without technical knowledge : ""I managed to build my website in 6 days. I immediately found it more intuitive and easier to manage. In short, I pay a little more but I am more efficient and more satisfied.""

And Mélanie, from Mc Virtual Assistant, switched from Wix to Showit to completely redesign her website. You can also... Discover his return in video on my YouTube channel.

Is Showit worth it in 2026?

Who is Showit made for?

Based on my six years of experience and the dozens of projects I've supported, Showit is particularly well-suited if you're a freelance or service entrepreneur, you want a visual presentation that truly reflects you, and you want to stop depending on someone else for every little change to your site.

On the other hand, if your main need is a complex online store or if your budget is really tight, other solutions will be more suitable for your situation.

What if I'm not comfortable with the technology?

That's precisely why Showit exists. You don't need to know how to code or understand how a CMS works to get started. With a clear starting structure (via a template designed for your sector, (for example), you can move forward without feeling lost.

My honest opinion on Showit

After six years on Showit, my opinion is clear: it is a tool that delivers on its promises of creative freedom, Ease of use and technical reliability are key advantages. The real limitations to be aware of before you get started are the price and restricted e-commerce features.
